Draft SUMMARY REPORT OF “RISK ASSESSMENT OF CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT CONSEQUENCES: LESSONS LEARNED FOR THE FUTURE” CCMS PILOT STUDY

Background: The Pilot Study represents the continuation of a collaborative scientific activity started with the international workshop: “Risk assessment of Chernobyl accident consequences”, held in Kiev, Ukraine on April 8-12, 2003, and with 37 participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Russian Federation and Lithuania and 14 participants from western Europe and USA attended to the workshop (Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, US), respectively presenting 29 and 10 papers. NATO/CCMS Planning Committee Meeting was performed at Istituto Superiore di Sanità, (Rome) on December 2 4, 2004). The Scope of Preparatory Meeting was the discussion of the Pilot Study program. preliminary collection of synthetic data, evaluations, assessments on the above listed points, provided by participants, in order to produce a document to be submitted to a larger meeting and organization of the first extended Pilot Study meeting to be held in 2005 in Kiev.
